DEVELOPER DOCUMENTATION

Know what was reserved and charged

A usage counter and a financial ledger are different systems. The operational service must document billable outcomes and settlement behavior.

Reconcile by reference

Use job, request, and ledger references to investigate discrepancies without logging complete customer lists.

Track reservations and settlement

If the service reserves credits before a job completes, keep that state distinct from a final charge. The live billing contract must define which outcomes consume credits and how adjustments appear.

Use a financial reference

Associate usage with a request or job and the relevant ledger reference. A screen counter alone is not sufficient to investigate a disputed charge.

Alert before work stops

Define application behavior when the credit balance cannot cover more work. Surface the issue to an authorized operator without retrying indefinitely or discarding queued records.
