Foundational Architectural Principles

Explore the five core engineering commitments that govern MailCheckup's product design, billing ledger, and data privacy.

Empirical Engineering Zero Industry Gimmicks
TRANSPARENCY 100% Explainable Outcomes

Clarity over Black-Box Scores

We reject arbitrary 0–100 quality scores that hide whether an address is actually deliverable.

Legacy Industry Trap

Legacy verifiers assign opaque confidence scores that leave senders guessing why a record bounced.

The MailCheckup Standard

MailCheckup preserves exact SMTP diagnostic codes (250 OK, 550 Mailbox Not Found, 451 Greylisted) and explains the technical proof behind every verdict.

1. The problem with legacy email verification

For more than a decade, the email verification industry has operated on opacity. Legacy tools market deceptive "99.9% accuracy" promises, conceal actual SMTP responses behind black-box quality scores, and quietly confiscate unused credits after 365 days. Worst of all, many discount providers subsidize their low costs by harvesting customer lists and enriching secondary data broker databases.

MailCheckup was designed from the ground up as an antidote to these practices. We believe that deliverability operators, sales leaders, and developers deserve truthful technical evidence, transparent wholesale pricing, and ironclad data privacy.

4. Responsible infrastructure & privacy

When you verify contacts on MailCheckup, your data is processed ephemerally in RAM and stored encrypted at rest with AES-256 GCM. Once your CSV export is completed, you have full controls to purge records immediately. We comply with GDPR Article 28 and never utilize customer emails to enrich secondary search engines or cold outreach databases.

5. Frequently asked questions about MailCheckup

Who operates MailCheckup and where is the company based?

MailCheckup is operated by Secuno LLC, a registered United States corporate entity headquartered at 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, Wyoming, USA 82801. Corporate phone: +1 (315) 961-7074.

Why does MailCheckup avoid marketing '99.9% accuracy' claims?

Marketing '99.9% accuracy' badges is an industry gimmick. In the real world, mail server configurations are dynamic: corporate servers employ greylisting, firewall deferrals, and catch-all accept-all policies. MailCheckup prioritizes empirical honesty: we tell you exactly what the destination server answered (250, 550, or 451) and never bill you when the answer is inconclusive.

Does MailCheckup sell or enrich customer contact lists?

Never. MailCheckup operates under strict GDPR Article 28 data processor obligations. Customer email lists are verified ephemerally, returned to the customer, and never retained, cross-referenced, scraped, or monetized in any secondary database.

How are credit balances protected across months or years?

On-demand credit packs purchased through Stripe Checkout remain permanently valid in your workspace ledger. They do not expire after 30 days or 365 days. If you also maintain a monthly subscription, our ledger automatically consumes the soonest-expiring monthly credits first.

What is the $0 Free Unknown Policy?

If a destination mail server deferrals a check (SMTP 451/421 greylisting) or experiences a network connection timeout, the outcome is inconclusive. MailCheckup charges 0 credits ($0.00) for all unknown outcomes, instantly releasing any temporary reservation holds back to your account.

Does MailCheckup offer customer support from real engineers?

Yes. We do not use outsourced call centers or automated deflection chatbots. Product inquiries are answered directly by deliverability specialists via support@mailcheckup.net, and billing inquiries are handled via billing@mailcheckup.net with guaranteed sub-4-hour SLAs during business hours.
